Looking for a fun and engaging Viking workshop for your primary school? Our immersive, hands-on workshops are designed for KS2 pupils, bringing Viking history to life through interactive activities. Delivered directly at your school, our workshops offer a cost-effective and hassle-free alternative to off-site trips, while providing an unforgettable learning experience.

Why Choose Our Viking History Workshops?

  • Curriculum-Aligned: All workshops are linked to the National Curriculum for History, focusing on Viking raids, settlements, daily life, and their impact on Britain.

  • Fun and Hands-On: Packed with interactive activities, children will wear Viking costumes, make their own shields, and participate in exciting role-plays and crafts.

  • Experienced Staff: Our expert historical facilitators are passionate about creating immersive learning experiences that engage young minds. Ideal for schools seeking a professional, knowledgeable visitor to enhance their history lessons.

  • Cost-Effective and Convenient: Bringing our workshop to your school saves you the hassle of organising transport, permissions, and the additional costs of an off-site trip. Your pupils can enjoy all the benefits of a high-quality historical experience without leaving the classroom!

  • Immersive Learning: From navigating across seas using Viking techniques to debating in a Viking council meeting ("Thing"), your pupils will be fully immersed in Viking life.

  • Flexible Workshop Options: Choose from our 1-hour to full day workshops, or customise the experience to suit your school’s timetable.

What Will Your Pupils Learn?

  • Who Were the Vikings? Pupils will explore where the Vikings came from, why they invaded Britain, and how they settled here, using maps, timelines, and group discussions.

  • Viking Life and Society: Pupils will investigate Viking artefacts, craft shields and helmets, and role-play Viking raids and trades. They'll also learn how the Vikings influenced British culture and place names.

  • Raiders, Traders, and Navigators: Pupils will take part in a Viking voyage simulation, learning how the Vikings navigated their longships across seas. They'll also explore how the Vikings balanced raiding with trade and settlement.

  • Viking Crafts and Costumes: Not only will pupils wear Viking costumes, they’ll also create their own Viking-themed crafts, such as shields, and rune-writing.
